October 23, 2019

Labour’s history of innovation in government includes pioneering a major transformation from a monocrop sugar-based economy to the diversified economic environment that our country enjoys today. We have always actively supported and facilitated food production efforts in the farming and fishing sectors and NextGen SKN will facilitate the increased local food production within the federation. Our public market in Basseterre is the major hub for many of our farmers and fishermen and we will redesign it in a manner that will be more attractive to the consumer. It will become part of a local network of commercialized Farmer’s Markets to be conveniently located throughout the Federation. We will link farmers to government institutions and aggressively pursue new production and sales opportunities, including export where possible.
