The education system needs revamping and our training institutions must lead the charge. Labour will restore opportunities for investing in high quality education and training at all levels. With a greater focus on skills training from the secondary and tertiary levels, our people will be better equipped to create their own businesses. It is imperative that our young people be adept to uptake 21st century job opportunities to allow for our federation to remain competitive in the global market. The St. Kitts & Nevis Labour Party has always led in the advancing of our education system. We have always been about skyrocketing and modernizing the way our people are educated, and the techniques and overall experiences of the teacher. We believe that all persons should have equal opportunity at a higher level of education and NextGen SKN intends to assist in every way possible to afford equal opportunity for educational advancement. As a result, we intend to reintroduce the One-to-One laptop programme that made laptops available to all students in secondary schools and expand it to include the sixth grade of all primary schools. We will increase the number of scholarships available for post-secondary education and training by at least 50% in the next five years. Every household must have at least one member with a college or university degree.
